Life at Iris Hollow
We’re still figuring out exactly what Iris Hollow is going to become, and there’s a whole lot happening along the way. We’re growing food, preserving, baking, building, trying new things and slowly working our way through decades of stuff around the property.
Our videos are where we bring you along for all of it! The projects, the garden, the things that work, the things that absolutely do not, and whatever we happen to get ourselves into next.
Everything We’ve Canned & Preserved From the Garden So Far
Our garden this year has kept us BUSY. In this one, we're taking stock of everything we've managed to can, pickle, dry and preserve so far including a few experiments and a whole lotta tomatoes.
Turning Our Cabbage Harvest Into a Freezer Full of Potstickers
Our cabbage harvest was a little bigger than we knew what to do with so naturally we turned it into a ridiculous amount of homemade potstickers. Come along as we take our cabbage from the garden to the kitchen and fill the freezer with something we’ll actually be very happy to eat all winter.
Garden update & chat
Come wander around the garden with me! We’re checking in on what’s growing, harvesting whatever is ready and chatting about how our experimental garden is going, what’s working, what isn’t, and what we’re learning along the way.
Throwback to Last Year’s Honey Harvest
A little throwback to our first honey harvest at Iris Hollow! Come along as we pull honey from the hives, work our way through the frames and see just how much our bees managed to make. Definitely one of the sweeter parts of homestead life.
Making homemade foccacia with herbs from our garden
There’s something extra satisfying about cooking with something you grew yourself. In this one, I’m making homemade focaccia using fresh herbs straight from our garden — simple, delicious, and exactly the kind of from-the-garden-to-the-kitchen cooking I love.
